Mount Hood hops are ideal for brewing well-balanced ales and lagers with a soft hop character. They are best suited for American Pale Ales, Amber Ales, Brown Ales, German Ales & Lagers.
The Mount Hood hop variety is an excellent American hop derived from Hallertau of Germany. It is considered to be similar to the noble Hersbrucker Hallertau strain and is particularly suited for cultivation in the American Pacific Northwest.

Galena is a classic bittering hop and sometimes employed as a finishing hop. It has a mild to moderate intensity with a surprisingly pleasant tropical citrus quality. Galena can have a slightly 'rustic' edge which belies its Brewers Gold ancestry.
Galena was bred in 1968 from an open pollination of an unknown male with Brewers Gold. Released in 1978, it continues to enjoy success as a multipurpose high-alpha variety.

This American high alpha acid variety has a pungent aroma of citrus, wood and spice and leaves a clean bitter flavor. It is an excellent choice for bitter ales and American IPA's. CTZ hops are an ideal dual-purpose hop due to it's assertive, clean bitterness and it's pleasingly intense aroma.
It is often identified by other names such as CTZ which stands for Columbus, Tomahawk and Zeus. The Tomahawk variety is genetically the same and the Zeus variety is so similar that they are generally regarded as the same for practical purposes. The naming confusion is a result of copyright and patent issues encountered by those who developed this hop variety.
