Briess Caramel Malt (60ºL)

Briess Caramel 80ºL malt is a dark crystal malt made with 2-row barley. It imparts a red to deep-red color with flavors of burnt-sugar and raisin while adding body and improved head retention. A light use can add a deep richness to pilsners and a heavier use can impart a deep color and raisiny flavor to any style of beer. Briess caramel malts are roasted to create glassy, crystallized sugars with rich flavor and color.

Briess Caramel 40ºL malt is a light crystal malt made with 2-row barley. It imparts a golden color, rich sweetness and mild caramel and toffee flavors while adding body and improved head retention. A light use can add a fuller character to pilsners and a heavier use can impart a deep color and rich maltiness to any style of beer. Briess caramel malts are roasted to create glassy, crystallized sugars with rich flavor and color.

Dingemans Special B is a dark, Belgian crystal malt produced by an unusual double drying process. It imparts strong deep red to dark brown colors. The taste is rich, with a raisin-like maltiness and hints of nut and plum. It adds a full body and complex malty aroma. Special B is a good substitute for roasted malts like chocolate or black malt when a rich character without bitterness is desired. It can be used in any dark beer recipe and is often found in classic including Abbey ales, dubbels, porters, brown ales, and doppelbocks.
